Growing Global Contract Manufacturer is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to assist in RFPs, costing, and opening the pipeline for electromechanical components and PCBA purchasing. Join our team and get prepared for our business growth in 2023!
About the Position
As the Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for executing and supporting strategic sourcing projects/objectives to save total landed cost on components and services by conducting and leading RFPs and supplier negotiations. We expect you to have an extensive network of proven suppliers to help increase the company’s competitive position with new and existing opportunities while controlling and reducing costs. There will be a strong emphasis on reducing shortages and improving supplier quality, on-time performance, and overall reliability The ideal candidate will get a thrill from translating Scanfil’s business goals into sound supplier relationships and customer success. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager. Travel of up to 10% of the time is to be expected.
Short Description (2): The Sourcing Specialist possesses a wide network of proven suppliers whom will be utilized proactively in an effort to control and reduce costs while increasing the company’s competitive position with new and existing opportunities. In addition, a strong emphasis on reducing shortages and improving supplier quality, on-time performance and overall reliability.
Qualifications (2): B.A and Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, electromechanical components and PCBA.
1. Executes and supports strategic sourcing projects/objectives to save total landed cost on components and services by conducting and leading RFP's and supplier negotiations
2. Analytical evaluation and comparison of total cost of ownership for suppliers proposals of components and services
3. Accountable for BOM costing, timing, and competitiveness for defined commodities in the customer RFQ process.
4. Possesses technical ability, experience, knowledge and network to support purchases of electromechanical components, assemblies, cable harnesses, sheet metal fabrication, and machining services etc. in support of current and future production needs.
5. Actively invests in the development of personal professional supplier network for electronics and metal fabrication.
6. Source, negotiate and decide from whom to procure component orders, with the best possible service, quality at a competitive price.
7. Articulate effectively to internal and external customers as deemed appropriate
8. Acts with customer and company in mind anticipating customer needs.
9. Understands our customers business and provides value to internal and external customers while also protecting the company’s business interests.
10. Support internal business teams with escalations for shortage, price, and quality.
11. Works well in a team-oriented environment while being open to, and actively soliciting opportunities for departmental improvement.
12. Coordinates periodic performance reviews with suppliers supported by pre-set, established and agreed upon key performance indicators
13. Develop appointed suppliers with tools according to the quality system.
14. Develops, builds, and grows relationships with vendors and distributors with tools provided via our quality system
15. Works with transport companies and freight forwarders both International and domestic with the goal of establishing reliable on time delivery, minimization of damages at a fair rate.
16. Monitor market and technology trends and if required acts upon them.
17. Accountable for component basic data: MOQ, Purchasing Terms, PPQ, AP, Price, Lead-time, etc.
18. Supports proper utilization of ERP system.
19. Participate in group RFQs
20. Other duties as assigned
21. Contributes to cost maintenance and reduction activities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in business or Supply Chain and a minimum of 7+ years’ experience or 10 years direct experience in lieu of a degree.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
CPP, CPPM, CGPP, CPPC a plus
