Electronics Manufacturing Engineer
Degree in Electronic Engineering and/or 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
The person will manage the manufacturing operations that include key processes such as Hand assembly, PCBA (SMT and through-hole), cable and box build assembly. In addition to manufacturing engineering responsibilities, there will be opportunity for some design engineering work (electrical and mechanical).
• Experience working with a Contract manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Possess knowledge and experience with the manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance of Electro-mechanical systems and/or Printed Circuit Boards of varying complexities.
• Direct knowledge of Manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods
• Work with internal process owners and suppliers to develop manufacturing processes, build instructions, and oversee supplier production runs.
• Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, convection reflow, wave solder, hardware installation, cleaning, conformal coating, potting and box build.
• Resolve manufacturing and process issues.
• Develop, qualify, and document assembly steps and manufacturing processes to fit the requirements of all products.
• Support Supply Chain with analysis of alternate electrical components and commodity management.
• Identify, design, procure, and validate assembly and test fixtures & tools. Support assembly and test equipment selection process to meet production plans.
• Train, develop, and/or provide work direction to operators and technicians.
• Responsible for process documentation and ensuring it is kept current like Work Instructions, Standard Work documents, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Provide design for manufacturability (DFM) input during design and development efforts. Basic Qualifications.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001:2015
• Able to interpret and create/update electronic schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
• Basic working knowledge of CAD software and printed circuit board manufacturing including Gerber files and CAM software.
• The ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and quickly resolve quality problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
• Solid organizational skills, ability to work and interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Must have product electronic manufacturing experience.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated.
